What is part 3 rescue?
Part 3 rescue training is something we see far too much of, for those that don’t know, part 3 rescue training is when you are currently training to become an instructor but feel the need to swap your trainer. This could be for various reasons from personal differences, unavailability or just poor training.
It’s a hard decision to make, somethings the decision is made for you but making a decision to find a new trainer is harder than picking a trainer in the first place.
The first thing to do is take a step back and look at the reason you want a new trainer:
- Lack of training or poor training
- Lack of work on your trainee license
- Personal differences with your trainer
- Failed you part 3 once or twice and need a second opinion
- Lost faith in the training you have received
We’ll be the first to admit there are some fantastic trainers out there, there are also some who should just stop ruining peoples dreams. It’s not worth brining emotions into these situations as ultimately you have one goal - to pass your part 3.
If you have attempts remaining at your part 3 test and enough time to implement make changes to your education then part 3 rescue is an option.
The first thing we do is have a mock part 3 test. We don’t know you, we don’t know who you have trained with - but we can see if your current training is enough to get you qualified. From there we can make a plan of rescue.
Our main concern is ‘What can we do in the time remaining’ - Everyone is different, you may have your final part 3 attempt booked, you may have just failed your first attempt. Based on how long you have and your current teaching level we will put a plan in place, from regular training lessons, joining our group sessions, providing recordings of your lessons for our trainers to re-watch we will do everything we can to ensure you qualify before your time runs out.
As we said its a difficult decision to make, you may just want a second opinion / independant review of your training but the longer you leave it the less chance we have of rectifying any issues.
