Why did you become a driving instructor?
I’ve always loved driving and also loved the idea of being able to be flexible around the needs of my son who is almost 5 so it gave the best of both worlds. As I previously delivered social care training courses, it seemed a perfect match for me.

What’s the best part of your job?
Test passes. It’s the end result we strive for when you take that very first lesson.

What’s the worst part of your job?
Early starts, cold days and test fails.

    Favourite lesson to teach
I tend to like most lessons, but I do enjoy roundabouts.

    Favourite area for teaching in
I like finding new areas to teach in but it really depends what the needs of the pupil are that day.

What did you do before you became an instructor?
Support Worker with adults with challenging behaviour and mental health needs, I think it’s this that keeps me calm in the car on lessons. It also gave me good experience of being able to manage health conditions such as autism and anxiety.

Why did you choose a Fiesta to teach in?
It does what it needs to do. It’s not got all the fancy bells and whistles, so you learn to drive without all the new features you find on most modern cars. Most people’s first car isn’t brand new off of the forecourt.

How old where you when you passed your driving test?

    Did you pass first time?
    No! Second time lucky!

If you could tell yourself anything when you where learning to drive, what would it be?
Take your time, it’s not a race!

When your not in the car where can we find you?
Usually relaxing at home with the latest talked about series on Netflix.

    Favourite food?
Not a fussy eater but I do like a nice steak (medium, please)

    Sports fan?
Rugby League (Salford – my original home town), Football (Stockport County – long story) and love watching the F1!

    Claim to fame?
Former national radio quiz champion (2014) and schools karting winner (1992)!

    Favourite band/music?
I’m an Indie kid so it’s James, Oasis, Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics and the like

    Kev’s Wirral Driving Lesson Reviews

Here’s what our happy drivers had to say about Kev’s driving lessons!

I would recommend the driving academy, Kev Brock was my instructor. I had a first time pass with both my theory and practical test. Kev is a great instructor and listens to your input, very professional and good communication. I have enjoyed the freedom and confidence driving has given me. Travelling to Scotland and back visiting family and friends. Thanks driving academy and Kev 😊

Is anyone is looking for a driving instructor I wood highly recommended Kev, as he’s very good and professional. I’m 38 years and I’ve been doing lessons with other people but never felt comfortable and always putting it off ,but with Kev I have learnt more with him in such a short space of time than the others.
The one thing I will say if you book lesson with him stick to it don’t lose him as a driving instructor

I done my driving lessons and passed with the Driving Academy. My instructor was Kev Brock, who is absolutely amazing! He made me feel comfortable and helped me get over being nervous about driving. The support was fantastic from my first lesson to taking my test. He explains everything so it’s easy to understand and I cannot recommend them enough!

Passed with Kev, really wants to work with you to help you pass your test. Always on time and very organised, always tried his best to accommodate your schedule to get those important lessons in! Would 100% recommend to anyone

Thank’s Kev (my driving instructor) for helping me to pass my test at the first attempt. Your determination, punctuality, techniques, professionalism, useful tips and a habit of constant improvement of me as a learner driver has made this possible. Your skills of teaching me how to handle the pressure and be confident, are not only useful in driving, but also in personal life. I have enjoyed my lessons to become a safe driver with you. Thank you.

Kev at the driving academy is hands down the best driving instructor out there! I must have been the most frustrating student and not once did he ever make me feel like he was annoyed at me he’s got loads of really helpful hints and tricks to park well and he’s all round a really nice guy! Even with his awful jokes! 😂 Helped me pass first time! Thank you kev forever greatful for your help!
