Why did you become a driving instructor?
I liked the idea of being my own boss, setting my own hrs, and flexibility so I didn’t miss out on my kids growing up.
What previous jobs have you had?
Numerous jobs but longest was working for sefton council’s catering division.
How old were you when you passed your driving test?
17 it was a must to drive asap back then.
Did you pass first time?
Yeah first time, was so eager to drive, failure wasn’t an option.
If you could go back and give yourself any advice when learning to drive what would it be?
No real advice, as I just did what I was told, and didn’t question its validity.
Why did you pick the Mitsubishi Mirage to teach in?
One of the easiest cars to drive, almost drives itself, hence my favourite phrase to pupils, “don’t fight it, let the car do the work”
Favourite teaching area?
Kirkby — the area allows for all stages of teaching from beginner to test ready.
When you aren’t teaching where can we find you?
Long walks, to counter balance being sat down so much.
Favourite food?
Anything spicy, the hotter the better.
Favourite holiday?
Caribbean cruise of all the islands, where I picked up my PADI license.
What music is in your car?
All and anything Rock.
