Why did you train to become a driving instructor?
I wanted a change, and I enjoyed teaching my 2 kids to drive.

Why did you pick your driving instructor car?
I picked a Ford Ecosport as I like ford’s and was going to get a Fiesta, but prefer Ecosport as same but a taller SUV version.

How old were you when you passed your driving test?
I passed first time age 17 (35 years ago) and bought a Mini Metro.

If you could go back and give yourself any advice when you were learning to drive, what would it be?
Being safe is better than being right.

Favourite Road trip?
Favourite road trip driving down east coast of America, from Niagara Falls to key west.

When you aren’t teaching, where can we find you?
Favourite thing to do is spend time at caravan in Rhosneigr Anglesey, walking the dogs on the beach.

Can I use your car for my test?

If you learn with Nicky, you can use her car for test as long as you are driving to her standards. Nicky does not cover last minute tests.

What happens on the day of the driving test?

Nicky will pick you up before your driving test and you will normally have a lesson before your test. As your test time approaches you make your way to the test centre ready for your exam. If you want Nicky to sit and observe the test you can, but the examiner will sit in the passenger seat and give you clear instructions whilst observing your driving. At the end of the test the examiner will guide you back to the test centre and give you your result. Good luck!

When will I be ready for my test?

Everybody is different, if you have a specific deadline then let us know and Nicky will work with you to achieve it. On average the UK learner needs 45 hours professional tuition and 22 hours private practice. Some people take more, some take less!

What driving test centres does Nicky's cover?

The majority of Nicky learners use Widnes driving test centre, it's the most local test centre, Alternatively, Speke and Warrington test centres are nearby
