Driving examiners on strike – 19 / 20 November
Driving examiners are planning to take strike action at various times on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 November 2015. Some driving examiners aren’t a member of a union and won’t be striking – so the official advice is to still go for your driving tests and hope for the best.
If your driving test is cancelled then the DVSA will automatically rebook your test and send you the booking details within 5-10 days. If this happens please check with your instructor as soon as possible that the new date is ok.
Compensation is available for out of pocket expenses, as-long as you do turn up at the test centre. If you are using your driving instructors car you still need to pay for this, but ask for a receipt and put in a claim with the DVSA to reimburse your costs. If you are using your own car for your driving test you can claim a set rate per mile. For more information or to make a claim please visit the DVSA website / Making a claim for out of pocket expenses
The strikes aren’t anything to do with us here and all of our instructors are working away as normal, any driving lessons you have booked will not be affected.
