Since early January we’ve been waiting for a date on when driving lessons will resume in the UK, but now we can confirm driving lessons will return on 12th April! This is obviously fantastic news and we can’t wait to be in the car teaching again!
Safety First
It’s the perfect opportunity for us to point out the steps we’re taking to keep you safe. TDA instructors will be following guidelines on PPE, this is for your safety as well as our instructors. If you are exempt from wearing PPE then please speak to your driving instructor. Some of our instructors may be using thermal thermometers to take your temperature before your lesson.
Car sanitisation
All of our cars will be chemically fogged before returning to work, this ensure’s every part of the interior is anti-bacterially clean. Instructors will also be using antibacterial wipes in-between learners on all controls, from things like your seatbelt and steering wheel, to mirrors and door handles.
Let’s be honest
Every learner will be asked the question ‘Are you covid symptom free’. We don’t want to risk anybody’s health so we’ll be asking all learners if they have any covid symptoms. The key symptoms are fever, dry cough and tiredness. There are further symptoms such as sore throat, aches & pains or headaches, but we’re relying on you to be honest if you are well enough for your driving lesson.
Key driving lesson dates
So it’s not just when driving lessons resume but also when you can sit your tests.
England & Wales
- Driving lessons will resume on Monday April 12th.
- Hazard perception & Theory tests will resume Monday Aprils 12th.
- Practical driving tests will resume 10 days later on Thursday 22nd April
Scotland
- There is no official date on return yet.
- From previous lockdowns, we expect lessons to resume April 26th with test 10 days later.
