E10 Fuel - Should you be bothered? - The Driving Academy
E10 Petrol? You have probably saw a load of things in the news about E10 petrol, ranging from anxiety about the usage of it to conspiracy theory’s about the introduction of it and panic buying for fuel. For many people you have the basic choice of standard or premium fuel, so calling something E10 just sounds a bit technical.
Thankfully here at The Driving Academy we’ve been following E10 (and both electric and hydrogen cars) so we should be able to shed a little light on what E10 is and if you can use it in your car (or when you buy a car after passing your driving test)

New drivers act, penalty points and endorsements! TDA blog
Everybody knows about driving offences and points you can receive for these offences, but many new drivers don’t realise there are stricter limits allowed for them. A new driver is classed as somebody who has gained their driving license within the previous 2 years, but points can be carried forward if you get points on your provisional licence.
Under the Road Traffic (New Drivers) Act, if you get six or more penalty points whilst being a ‘new driver’ (within two years of passing your test) you will have your driving licence cancelled.

New driving instructors coming soon! Reducing our waiting list! TDA
Lockdown had everybody eager to get back to work, which has led to us having over 150 pupils on our waiting list! Thankfully we’ve had some new instructors join our team in May to help reduce our waiting times. We do still have waiting lists in most areas and we’re currently hiring new driving instructors to reduce our waiting times.

What car will I learn to drive in?! The Driving Academy Blog
We get asked this all the time, and generally we always say it doesn’t matter as you will be taught to drive properly which will allow you to drive any car you want (within your license restrictions)
There are a few reasons you may want a specific car but it’s important to remember you won’t only ever drive 1 type of car, it’s important that you learn properly and not just make do with the car you have.

When will driving lessons resume? Lockdown driving lessons!
Since early January we’ve been waiting for a date on when driving lessons will resume in the UK, but now we can confirm driving lessons will return on 12th April! This is obviously fantastic news and we can’t wait to be in the car teaching again!
Safety First It’s the perfect opportunity for us to point out the steps we’re taking to keep you safe. TDA instructors will be following guidelines on PPE, this is for your safety as well as our instructors.

How to become ORDIT registered ADI - The Driving Academy
What is ORDIT? ORDIT stands for the Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers. It’s an optional course that driving instructors can take to show they have better processes in place for driving instructor training, the ORDIT team inspect each trainer for their training documents.
Why does ORDIT matter? Really, it’s down to the trainee. ORDIT offers peace of mind that the instructor trainer / training establishment has been checked by the DVSA and found to be keeping the right training logs, terms & conditions and complaints procedures.

Tyre’s are important. Most people just see them as 4 black rubber ‘thingies’ which cost money, but in reality they’re the only things keeping your car in contact with the road, without them your car wouldn’t go or stop!
